BIBLE CAMPS
Each year our NCEM Bible camps bring hundreds of First Nations people and the Gospel of Jesus Christ together in a natural setting.
In NCEM we’ve implemented several types of camping programs, some more similar to traditional Native camping than others. There are family camps, out-tripping camps for teens, and week-long sessions for children.
Here is a list of our camps and their locations. You will find more information about each Camp by following the links.
Each Bible camp’s page includes contact information & application forms for children/youth/families to attend camp … plus information & application forms for those considering serving there.
Here’s a list of NCEM-operated Bible camps:
- Arrowhead Native Bible Center (Grand Lake, New Brunswick)
- Big River Bible Camp (Big River, Saskatchewan)
- Higher Challenge Wilderness Adventures (Saskatchewan & Alberta)
- Kwayakotage Native Bible Camp (Maniwaki, Quebec)
- Pine Ridge Bible Camp (Beauval, Saskatchewan)
We try to keep camp fees as low as possible. The campers’ fees reflect only a portion of the total costs, so we rely on gifts from God’s people to keep our camps operating.
OTHER FIRST NATIONS BIBLE CAMPS
- Camp Canaanland
Takes place each summer near Smoky Lake, Alberta, on the North Saskatchewan River (usually on a weekend in July).
Contact Rod Flett (780-826-7726) for more information.
YOUTH OUTREACHES
- NYC — Native Youth Conference held each June in Alberta.

BIBLE SCHOOL
As a ministry of the Northern Canada Evangelical Mission (NCEM) since 1973, the Key-Way-Tin Bible Institute (located at Lac La Biche, Alberta) served to train First Nations Christians for life and leadership.
In February 2013 it was decided that KBI could not continue as a Bible school. The decision was very difficult and was based on several factors, primarily staff shortage. (The School’s full-time staff were NCEM missionaries, responsible for building their team of prayer/financial supporters — so it was not a simple matter of hiring more staff.) The decision to close KBI certainly does not minimize NCEM’s value for the discipling and training of First Nations believers.
With a strong family atmosphere at Key-Way-Tin, this decision was especially hard for students and staff members. Nevertheless, there has been an acceptance of God’s sovereignty and anticipation of what the Lord will do in the future through each past student and staff member. (A number of the 2012-13 students transferred to other Bible schools which accepted their course credits.)

CHRISTIAN FOUNDATIONS
The most important thing in life is to know what we believe … it is also important to know why we believe what we believe. And that’s the reason we are offering this course

Study God’s story and His plan for the world from the beginning!
NEW TESTAMENT SURVEY, VOL. 1
In this course you will learn how the Old Testament is connected to the New Testament … how the New Testament was written and put together, and how it points to Jesus Christ … and how the Church was born and how it grew. You will learn the outlines of each book in the New Testament, and the main teachings in each book.
NEW TESTAMENT SURVEY, VOL. 2

You will learn the outlines of each book in the New Testament, and the main teachings in each book.
STUDIES IN MARK
This simple study of the Gospel of Mark had its beginnings with a group of First Nations individuals in Yukon Territory. They became grounded in knowledge of the Scriptures, learning to get into the Word of God for themselves.
GOSPEL OF JOHN
In this study of the Gospel of John you will learn that Jesus is the Son of God and equal with God … that Jesus takes care of His sheep … that Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit … that Jesus showed Himself after He arose from the dead … and more!
What the Bible Teaches About God and Jesus Christ
You will learn something about who God is, what He is like, and how He works in this world. You will also learn who Jesus Christ is — that He is fully God and fully man. You will learn about His character, His life, His death, His resurrection, His ascension, and His work as Head of the Church … and His future reign.
Personal Evangelism
In this course you will learn some of the important things to know when you talk to someone about Jesus. You cannot talk to everyone in the same way. You will be given a few examples to help you when you talk to someone about Jesus.
